Inspired by 1950s ceramic finish. Mid-Century taught me further lessons about layering, patience, and respect for the materials. Early on, nothing seemed to work with the colors I’d chosen, and I abandoned the painting for several weeks. Art sometimes demands its own time and when I returned to this piece the process felt more collaborative. The result is not what I’d imagined, but something else altogether that emerged on its own.
